About D.R.E.A.M.
D.R.E.A.M. stands for Downtown Revitalization Economic Assistance for Missouri and it is a new initiative created through a partnership of three development agencies.

January Summary
City officials and other community representatives (Mayor Susan Williams, Byron Smith, David Boyer, Dale Gaebler, Steve Halter) traveled to Jefferson City to meet with state agency representatives and members of the PGAV consulting team to finalize the scope of services or range of work that the consulting team will do for the City of Poplar Bluff's downtown revitalization efforts.

February Summary
This month the City Council officially approved the scope of services discussed in last month's summary.

March Summary
This month was spent gathering background information and passing it on to the consulting team. We have scheduled the focus groups for early in May.

April & May Summary
A lot of background work has been going on during these two months. We did hold focus group meetings early in May. Those were very productive in getting information about people's feelings on Downtown development. We will be starting a downtown visitor's survey to help in further research.

June & July Summary
The consulting team is in the process of studying the downtown organizations and working on a recommendation.

August Summary
The D.R.E.A.M. initiative public kick-off meeting was held on August 14, 2008 at 7pm in the Black River Coliseum. Nearly 40 people were in attendance to hear presentation given by the consulting team. Many people excited about the prospects of revitalizing downtown Poplar Bluff were there.

September Summary
We have hosted two different groups from PGAV for meetings on different parts of the DREAM scope of services.

October Summary
The PGAV consultants were in town in October to work on detailed mapping for the downtown DREAM area.
